West Coast Seniors Housing Management (WCSHM) has achieved a significant milestone by earning CARF’s prestigious Three-Year Accreditation for Long-Term Care (LTC) for its client, Retirement Concepts, throughout all surveyed regions in British Columbia, including Vancouver Island, the Lower Mainland, and the Interior. This recognition underscores the company’s commitment to person-centered care, demonstrating strong leadership and operational excellence.
According to WCSHM President Graham Freeman, the accreditation serves as an external endorsement of the organization’s effective leadership and commitment to delivering high-quality, resident-focused care. This achievement reflects the hard work and dedication of the entire WCSHM team, including over 3,700 employees across 23 communities, and emphasizes consistent performance, robust systems, and exceptional resident experiences.
The success of this accreditation process was greatly influenced by Scott Shearer, WCSHM’s Director of Quality and Risk. His leadership and meticulous coordination were vital during the accreditation survey process, ensuring that CARF standards were met and that the organization’s comprehensive operational story was effectively communicated to the surveyors.
This accreditation aligns with WCSHM’s strategic goals of continuous improvement and enhanced resident outcomes. As they advance, the organization continues to focus on strengthening care models and maintaining high standards while demonstrating trust to partners, regulators, and the public. CARF International, the accrediting body, supports organizations in enhancing quality and accountability through developing international standards.
